The Samuel and Sarah Spivey Rubottom Family

Sam and Sarah Spivey Rubottom migrated to northeastern AR in 1867 from Illinois.  They first homesteaded 80 acres on Pea Ridge Mountain then moved to the Glade Community in the 1890s.

Sam owned the home later purchased by Harry and Cleva Williams Douglas.  Only a small fraction of Sam's land is now above water.  Most is covered by Beaver Lake.

Those pictured include:  (front to back, lt to rt) Sam Rubottom, his wife Sarah (called Sallie) holding a grandbaby, granddaughter Anna Hindman, unknown, granddaughter Grace Hindman, Sarah Rubottom Williams (Sam's sister), Mary Rubottom Lee (3rd from left on the porch).  The others are unknown grandchildren.
